Chicago Botanic Garden has 23 spectacular gardens on 385 acres,. The Garden
is a place of ever-changing beauty that you can stroll through daily. The
Garden is honored for educational excellence.
Chicago Park District -
Chicago Park District's has more than 7300 acres of parkland, thousands of
special events, and programs.

- A Bird's Eye View highlights bird migration in general, the birds of
Chicago, including an interactive bird gallery and map of Chicago birding
sites, bird protection, the Lights Out Chicago program, and educational and
other resources, including links to lesson plans, publications, links, and
bird hotlines.
Cook County Forest Preserve District -
The Forest Preserve District of Cook County operates 6 nature centers
highlighting the natural diversity of the Chicago region. Each offers
interpretation of natural experiences unique to its site.
DuPage County Forest Preserve
- Today, the Forest Preserve District owns and manages more than 24,000
acres and has an annual budget of more than $175 million. Each year, more
than 3.1 million people visit the Forest Preserve District's 600+ acres of
shimmering lakes, 60 miles of river and streams, and over 100 miles of
trails that offer scenic views and many fun ways to enjoy your leisure time.

McHenry County Conservation District
- The McHenry County Conservation District owns or manages over 18,000 acres
of beautiful open land with young and old trees, prairies, wetlands, ponds,
creeks, and rivers. Our 19 open conservation areas include trails, picnic
facilities, shelters, camp sites, fishing sites, rare plant and animal
examples, educational facilities w/educators, and more.
Morton Arboretum - The Morton
Arboretum was formally established on December 14, 1922 by Mr. Joy Morton
(1855-1934), owner of the Morton Salt Company. Its mission is to collect and
study trees, shrubs, and other plants from around the world, to display them
across naturally beautiful landscapes for people to study and enjoy, and to
learn how to grow them in ways that enhance our environment. Our goal is to
encourage the planting and conservation of trees and other plants for a
greener, healthier, and more beautiful world.
The Morton Arboretum offers a Certification program for Ornithology with classes
held quarterly.
