Chicago Audubon Society - Founded in 1973, the Chicago Audubon Society’s mission is to promote the
understanding and appreciation of nature, and to aid in the conservation and
restoration of our natural ecosystems for the benefit of humanity and the
earth’s biodiversity.
Chicago Ornithological Society - Promotes the scientific and educational aspects of ornithology in the greater
Chicago, Illinois area by publishing a periodic newsletter, conducting field
trips to study birds in their natural habitat, and engaging in such other
activities including, but not limited to, seminars,
conferences, and annual Spring, Christmas, and Breeding Bird Censuses.

Decatur Audubon Society - Our
group is affiliated with the National Audubon Society, the Audubon Council
of Illinois, and the Illinois Audubon Society. Our members include hikers
and other nature enthusiasts as well as armchair- and outdoor birders and
those interested in tree-study (our group started as a bird and tree club in
1921).
Meetings: 3rd Sunday (Except in May on Saturday)
DuPage Birding Club - The DuPage Birding Club was founded in 1985.
The club exists to provide a fun and camaraderie between birders of all levels and ages while enjoying some serious birding experiences.
Emiquon Audubon Society - The Emiquon Audubon Society (EAS) was formed in 1999 to promote appreciation and understanding of nature and to support the conservation of natural resources. EAS places a special emphasis on the rich natural resources of the Illinois River Valley in Mason County and other nearby natural areas, and works with other groups to promote environmental awareness. EAS is a local chapter of the Illinois Audubon Society (IAS)
Evanston North Shore Bird Club - The
Evanston North Shore Bird Club is an organization located in north suburban
Chicago devoted to birding and protecting local natural resources.
Illinois Audubon Society - The Illinois Audubon Society was organized as an independent, state-wide,
educational and scientific organization, incorporated April 10, 1897, by the
State of Illinois. The Society has no connection with the National Audubon
Society, which was formed several years later. The purpose of the Society is to promote the perpetuation and appreciation of
native flora and fauna of Illinois and the habitats that support them.
Fundamental to this end are the control of pollution, the conservation of energy
and all natural resources, a sound ecological relationship between human
populations and their environments, and the education and involvement of the
public in such efforts.
Illinois Ornithological Society
- IOS is dedicated to promoting an increased awareness of birds in Illinois.
Founded in 1992, the organization has grown to number more than 700 amateurs
and professionals interested in birds and birding in Illinois. IOS is for
everyone.
John Wesley Powell Audubon Society -
JWP Audubon is a chapter of the National Audubon Society and is an affiliate
of Illinois Audubon. Our chapter area includes Bloomington/Normal, Illinois;
surrounding McLean County; and parts of adjacent central Illinois
communities. We take our chapter name from John Wesley Powell; 19th Century
explorer, geologist, naturalist, anthropologist, ethnologist and teacher. Though much of our focus is on birds and bird watching, we realize that birds
are just part of a much larger global ecosystem. For that reason we are also
interested in conservation, ecology, habitat protection and nature education

Lincoln Trail Audubon
- We are Non-Profit Organization serving East-Central Illinois.
We advocate conservation and enjoyment of our natural Resources.
We offer opportunities for Birding, learning about the environment, and
fellowship with others having an interest in nature. A chapter of Illinois Audubon Society.
McHenry County Audubon
Society -
The McHenry County Audubon Society is the oldest nature conservation group
in the county. As a chapter of the Illinois Audubon Society, our goals are
to: Promote the appreciation of birds and other wildlife. Increase
knowledge of the environment and of the wildlife it supports.
Preserve wildlife and its habitat. Support conservation actions at the
local, state, and national levels.
Meetings: 2nd Thursdays in Crystal Lake
Peoria Audubon Society - Founded
in 1930, Peoria Audubon is a chapter of the National Audubon Society with
memberships in the Audubon Council of Illinois and the Peoria Academy of
Sciences. It is also an affiliate of the Illinois Audubon Society. All
National Audubon Society members are automatically members of the Peoria
Audubon Society.

Prairie Woods Audubon Society
- A Chapter Of The National Audubon Society Chartered in Arlington Heights,
Illinois Serving All of North West Cook County from Des Plaines to
Barrington and Elgin. The mission of the Prairie Woods Audubon Society, as a
chapter of the National Audubon Society, is to conserve the environment, to
preserve wildlife and natural habitats, and to provide opportunities for
education, nature appreciation, and fellowship.
The Purple Martin Society -
The Purple Martin Society, NA is a young organization that was founded in
1994. Through hard work, promotion and its printed voice and newsletter, THE
SCOUT REPORT, the membership quickly swelled. The Purple Martin Society, NA
is a specialized and unique group of birders whose goals are to preserve the
Purple Martin species for future generations and to advance the interest and
knowledge of Purple Martins to others.
Shawnee Audubon Society -
Shawnee Audubon Society was formed in 1995 as a chapter of the Illinois
Audubon Society. We focus on issues of environmental significance to
Southern Illinois, with special emphasis on those issues that pertain to the
conservation and preservation of our native fauna and flora. We are also the
stewards of War Bluff Valley Sanctuary -- a 500 acre wildlife sanctuary
located in Pope County.
Sierra Club of Illinois - The Illinois Chapter of the Sierra Club is a statewide
organization representing over 25,000 individuals committed to protecting the
Illinois environment · for our families, for our future.
Thorn Creek Audubon Society
- The Thorn Creek Audubon Society is a chapter of the National Audubon
Society and an affiliate of the Illinois Audubon Society. The Society is
active in the Thorn Creek Ecosystem Partnership and the Bird Conservation
Network. We also work with the Chicago Wilderness, Bartel Grassland and the
Thorn Creek Nature Center in all things bird related.
Vermilion County Audubon Society
- The Vermilion County Audubon Society is members of the community
dedicated to promoting environmental awareness. We work to preserve and restore
natural habitats for birds and other wildlife. We support conservation and
education programs locally, nationally, and internationally.

Western Prairie Audubon Society
- The Western Prairie Audubon Society is a chapter of Illinois Audubon
Society, encompassing Western Illinois - Macomb IL and the surrounding area.
Our organization operates as a non-profit volunteer group whose purpose is
to promote appreciation, increase knowledge, and further the conservation of
natural resources, the wildlife and plants which depend upon these resources
and the environment which supports them.
